License activation

Activate FileTally on Windows or Mac with your license, understand when it needs the internet, and get help without exposing your key.

FileTally 1.0 · Windows and Mac

Trial and purchase

The seven-day trial runs from your first scan. After it ends, saved scans and file review remain available; new scans and exports need a license. The pricing page and checkout show the current offer. Read the licensing policy, terms and EULA before purchase.

Find and activate your license

  1. Locate the purchase email containing the license key and attached .lic file. Check junk folders if it is missing.
  2. In FileTally, open the license controls from the key icon. Accept the license agreement if asked, then choose Activate license with your license code, or import the license file.
  3. Stay connected to the internet while activating. Keep the purchase email and original attachment in a private location.

One license works on all the Windows PCs and Macs you own or control. Do not post your key, license file or purchase details in public screenshots or issue reports.

Connectivity and moving computers

Activation needs the internet once on each computer. After that, FileTally works offline on that computer. Earlier FileTally versions may still show Check or Renew activation; if one asks, connect and use it once.

To add a new or replacement computer, install FileTally and activate it with the same license. You don't need to deactivate or transfer another computer first. Licenses from this site don't unlock App Store versions; those are bought and restored through Apple.

If activation fails, keep the exact message and your FileTally version, and contact support from the purchase email. Do not remove license data or reinstall repeatedly as a substitute for resolving an entitlement issue. Existing purchases should be resolved through support rather than buying again.

Ask for purchase help

For a resend or activation issue, email support from the purchase address. Include the app version, your operating system, the purchase channel and a brief description of the issue. Share only the information needed for that request.

The support policy explains replacement and refund review.
